The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, February 6, 1947 Mrs. Loretta W. Jackson Funeral services were held last Friday for Mrs. Loretta W. Jackson, widow of the late George Tole Jackson, well known farmer of the Gibson and Mt. Zion community for many years, who died Wednesday, Jan. 29. Mrs. Jackson suffered a broken hip from a fall several weeks ago and never recovered. She was 91. Services were held at the Gibson Methodist Church with Rev. E. A. Phillips, pastor of Gibson Methodist Church and Rev. W. S. Evans, pastor of Highland Heights Methodist Church, Memphis, officiating. Reprogie Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Thomas D. and Hallie G. Warmoth, pioneer citizens of the Zion community. She was a member of the Gibson Methodist Church and for many years she was one of the most devoted members and leaders in Woman's Society of Christian Service and other activities of the church and Sunday School. She also leaves seven daughters, Mrs. R. B. Hicks and Mrs. E. F. Hicks, both of Jackson, Mrs. Will Chandler of Newbern, Mrs. H. W. Tanksley of Nashville, Mrs. Tump Harrison of Gibson, Mrs. S. Homer Tatum of Alamo, and Mrs. J. M. Jones of Colfax, La., and another son, John Hale Jackson of Detroit, Mich. |
