Humboldt--Services for Mary Thelma Hopper, 86, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hunt Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Walling officiating.

Burial will be in Salem Cemetery near Gadsden.

Mrs. Hopper died at noon Friday, at the Naval Regional Hospital in Millington, after a short illness.

The widow of Charles P. Hopper, she was born in Coxville Community. She lived in Humboldt most of her life, and was a member of Central Avenue Christian Church.

Mrs. Hopper was a gold star mother. Her son, Frank Hopper, was killed in action in WWII.

Surviving are two sons, Charles H. Hopper of Memphis, and James Thomas Hopper of New Orleans, two brothers, Reggie Cox of Humboldt, and Moses Frank Cox of Gadsden, a sister, Blanche Cox of Humboldt. 3 grandchildren.
