The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, March 1, 1951 Vol. 19 No. 1 CAP REX HARRIS Cap R. Harris, night manager of the café at the Greyhound Bus Station in Memphis since last December, suffered a heart attack at the Station early Monday and died at 5 a.m. at John Gaston Hospital. He was 60. Born in Friendship, Mr. Harris lived in Crockett Mills and Alamo where he operated a café. He was a member of the Alamo Christian Church. He was well known in Crockett County where he had a host of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bethesda Church near Friendship. Bro. Frank Perry of Selmer and Bro. Charles Herndon of Alamo officiated. Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery with Ronk Funeral Home in charge. He leaves his children, two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Gilliam of Memphis and Miss Betty Sue Harris of Crockett Mills; two sons, Bill Harris of Memphis and Doyle Harris of Memphis; two grandchildren, two brothers, County Tax Assessor Jim Harris of Alamo and Frank Harris of San Antonio, Texas and one sister, Mrs. Rena Tillman. |
