The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, November 13, 1947 Pfc. Billy A. Harber Services for Pfc. Billy A. Harber, who was killed in service in Germany Nov. 28, 1944, were held Monday afternoon at the First Christian Church in Crockett Mills, of which Pfc. Harber was a member. The Rev. Frank Perry officiated with Ronk Funeral Home in charge. Billy was 24 years of age and was in service about two and one half years. He was a graduate of Hamlett-Robertson High School of Crockett Mills. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Harber of near Alamo; a brother, Thomas Corbet Harber and three sisters, Mary Jane, Sarah Sue and Betty Clara, survive. Several young men from his immediate community paid the supreme sacrifice. [Note: A memorial written by his Aunt Della, in the Crockett Times, Nov. 20, 1947, gives his name as Billy Austin Harber] |
