The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, April 17, 1947 Mrs. N. W. Freeman Dies At Friendship Mrs. Nathan W. Freeman died at her home here Friday at 5:45 p.m. after a years illness. She had been seriously ill a week. She was 68. Mrs. Freeman was born in Crockett County where she lived all her life. She was a Methodist and her life was one of devotion and service. Her Christian character was an inspiration to both old and young. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Saturday at 3:30 p.m. by Bro. J. T. Walker of Whiteville and Bro. A. L. Mays of Friendship Burial was in Bellevernon Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Doyle of Friendship, Miss Bernice Freeman of Nashville; two sons, Robert E. Freeman of Gary, Ind., and James Freeman of Friendship; one brother, Dave Ellis of Memphis; one daughter, Mrs. Flake Bessent who preceded her in death in 1943. Her resting place was marked by many beautiful flowers.
Maggie Ellis married Nathan W. Freeman 11 Apr 1903 in Crockett Co. She was the daughter of C. R. Ellis & Elizabeth Jones. |
