Humboldt Courier-Chroncle Gibson Co., TN Thursday July 7, 1921 COXVILLE--Last Saturday afternoon at Cox's Chapel, the body of MRS. GUSSIE COX, relict of James A. COX, was laid to rest beside her husband, who preceded her to the "Great Beyond" about 17 years ago. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. RAMSEY, at the home of Mr. Hess SENTER, of Humboldt, where she had made her home after the death of her husband. She was more than 80 years old. Besdies one brother, Prof. Walter HESS, she also leaves five sisters and six step-children. (On next page: MRS. GUSSIE COX, widow of the late James A. COX, died July 1st, 1921, at the residence of her nephew, A. H. SENTER, in this city. She was born May 27th, 1839, three miles north of Humboldt, being 82 years, 1 month, and 3 days old. Surviving are her sisters, Mrs. M. M. JOHNSON, of Austin, TEX., Mrs. Lide THOMPSON, of Milan, Tenn., Mrs. W. M. DUNLAP, Mrs. Sue DUNLAP, Mrs. J. E. CAMPBELL, of Humboldt; and brother, Walter HESS, of Medina. |
