The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, May 12, 1938 Charley Clark Passes Away Charley Clark, aged 67, one of the outstanding citizens of the Johnson Grove community, died Tuesday morning about 3 o'clock. Mr. Clark was held in high esteem by the people of his community and was well known through this section. He was an active member of the Johnson Grove Baptist church. Mr. Clark worked in the U-Tote'Em Store at Bells until his health failed. His son, W. D., is now manager of the U-Tote'Em Store at Friendship. His wife, one son and four daughters survive. The daughters are: Mrs. Pauline Wilson, Eades, Tenn.; Mrs. Thomas Cogbill, Memphis; Mrs. Glen Farman, Humboldt; and Mrs. Johnnie Lee Eason of Johnson Grove. A good citizen has passed to his reward and many friends are deeply grieved. Funeral services were held at Johnson Grove Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 by his pastor, Rev. C. L. Brown, assisted by Rev. J. T. Barker. Burial at Bellview cemetery, Bells. Goosmann, undertaker in charge. |
