The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, March 25, 1948 Vol. 16 No. 4 Services for R. C. Bradford of Cabot, Ark., father of Roark Bradford, well known Southern author were held at 1:30 Monday at Halls Methodist Church. The Rev. W. F. Maxedon officiated. Burial was in Halls Cemetery. Mr. Bradford, who was 87, died of pneumonia Saturday night in St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. He was born in Lake Charles, La. and lived in Halls from 1906 to 1911. He then moved to Cabot where for many years he was a real estate and insurance agent. Mr. Bradford was a member of the Cabot Masonic Lodge and the Methodist Church. In addition to his son, he leaves his wife, Mrs. Lucy Glover Bradford; two other sons, Dr. W. H. Bradford of Washington and J. B. Bradford, an engineer at Oak Ridge; four daughters, Miss Ruth Bradford, with the Congressional Library in Washington, Mrs. J. C. Galloway of Beebe, Ark., Mrs. J. C. Alexander of Cabot and Mrs. Y.S. Brown of Halls |
