From "The Knoxville News-Sentinel," Knoxville, Tennessee, 16 Jan 1986. BOYD, DAVID JAMES - of Knoxville, died 5 a.m. Wednesday at Park West Hospital after a lingering illness. He was a member of Mt. Olive Assembly of God Church, in Gadsden, Tenn. Member of Carpenters Local No. 50 and Masters Lodge No. 244 Knoxville Consisitory, Scottish Rite Mason. He was a retired carpenter. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Venna B. Boyd, Knoxville; son, David T. Boyd, Austin, Texas; grandsons, David L. Boyd, Knoxville, James C. Boyd, Atlan- ta, Ga.; granddaughters, Teresa Clax- ton, Knoxville, Debora Boyd, Maryville; great-grandsons, James L. Heath, Knoxville, who previously made his home wiht Mr. and Mrs. Boyd; great- granddaughters, Terri L. Heath, Knox- ville; sisters, Mrs. Clara Smith, Mrs. Flossie Hunt, both of Alamo, Tenn.; sev- eral nieces of west Tennessee. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, Weaver Chapel, Rev. Rex Eledge officiating. Interment in Highland Memorial Cemetery. Masonic service 8 p.m. Thursday, by Masters Lodge No. 244. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home. (David James Boyd was born 17 Jul 1910 in the Center community of Crockett County, the son of Perry Parker Hix and Rena Belle Sipes Boyd. He died 18 Jan 1986.) |
