The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, March 20, 1947 Mrs. Crettie Boothe Mrs. Crettie Boothe passed away at her home in the Cairo community on Monday evening at 6:30. Funeral services were held at the Cairo Church of Christ on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with Aubrey Johns of Anderson, Ind., and R. E. Black of Maury city conducting the services. She was 65 and a member of the Church of Christ at Cairo. She was the wife of the late S. A. Boothe. They were farmers and very prominent in Crockett county, where they spent their entire life. One daughter, Doris, preceded her in death ten years ago. She is survived by two cousins, S. H. Burnett of Alamo and Boss Burnett of Halls. She also leaves a host of friends by whom she will be greatly missed. Burial at Pond Creek Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. Mattie Lue C. (Crettie) Rochell was the daughter of Nathaniel & Sarah Rochell. She married 21 Dec 1902 to Stephen A. Booth. The obit gives her last name as Boothe, but her tombstone at Pond Creek Cemetery spells the name Booth. |
