Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Nunn Best, 83, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Phillips officiating. Burial was in Belleview cemetery with Bells Funeral Home in charge.

"Miss Kate" as she was so familiarly known, died suddenly at her home Thursday.

She was the wife of the late John Best who died more than 20 years ago. She was born in Bells where she had lived all her life. She was the daughter of the late J. C. W. and Kate Maulden Nunn.

Mrs. Best had endeared herself to so many people during her lifetime. She was an active member of Bells Methodist Church where she had taught the H. N. Park Bible class for many years, she was secretary of the United Methodist Women. For over 45 years "Miss" Kate had been a reporter for the Crockett County Sentinel.

She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Lee Fraser of Memphis; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Thomas of Alamo, Mrs. Ernest Gibson of Texarkana, Texas, Mrs. Charles Walker of Pecos, Texas; two grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Miller Pettey, Aldon Edwards, Duane Armes, Lem Pearson, Eddie Barnes and Edward Mehr.
