The Crockett Times Alamo, Tenn. Thursday, February 6, 1947 Mr. Jesse Barnes Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Barnes, who passed away last Wednesday morning were held Thursday afternoon at the Goosmann Funeral Home by Rev. J. E. Sharp, assisted by Rev. J. P. Irion and was attended by a large crowd of relatives and friends. Mr. Barnes had been in ill health for several months and had a stroke about eight weeks ago from which he never recovered. He passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ewen Miller, with whom he had lived for several years. In the passing of Mr. Barnes a beloved member of one of the oldest families of Bells and a citizen who was well liked and highly respected. He is survived by four brothers, Messrs W. F. Barnes, B. B. Barnes, Sr., J. R. Barnes and A. D. Barnes and two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Casey of Bells and Mrs. Blanche Vannay of Newport News, several nieces and nephews. Burial was in Belleview Cemetery in the family lot. Goosmann Funeral Home in charge. |
