Truck accident fatal to Maury City farmer--John Daniel Archer, 26, died at 11 p.m. Monday of injuries suffered in a truck accident on Highway 54 between Alamo and Trenton. Services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Archer Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. T. E. Williams officiating. Burial was in Maury City Cemetery under direction of Sudbury Funeral Home. Mr. Archer was born and reared in Crockett County, where he was a farmer. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the 36th Infantry Division for 3 years, including 18 months in the European Theater. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Archer of Maury City; five sisters, Mrs. Ausie Wilcox and Mrs. Doyle Hollingshead of Bells, Mrs. James Marlowe, Friendship, Miss Bertha Mae and Miss Mildred Archer of Memphis and a brother, Thomas Wilson Archer of Maury City.
