Crockett High School
Crockett Co., TN

Crockett High was the first High School in Crockett County located at Maury City, Tn.
The first graduation ceremony was in 1913.
The school cost $10,000.

The original Crockett High School was built in 1911 as shown on the front of the building. Over the years, the school was remodeled, eventually making it a one story.building. The Maury City Masonic Lodge # 368 met monthly on the third floor of the school. The Masonic Lodge owned 1 /10 th's of the school building and property due to a loan made to the school. Some of the School board and Maury City board were members of the lodge. This school was owned by the town of Maury City, and many years later was turned over to the control of Crockett County.
In 1985 the Maury City Lodge #368 merged with Alamo Lodge #164, therefore the Alamo lodge inheirted all assets of the Maury City Lodge by law.
When Crockett County elected to sell the property, an agreement was entered into by both parties, (Crockett County and Alamo Lodge), that the Alamo Lodge would give it's 9/10 ownership to Crockett County in lieu of a historical marker being placed on the Maury City School site, and was so done.
