Crockett Co., TN

Alamo Tennessee, Tuesday April 6th, 1886

This day, CLARENCE WADE, JANE WADE and INES WADE col'd orphan children, the ages nine seven and five years were brought into open Court by SAM HARPER col a citizen of this County. It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the estate of said children is of so small a value that no person will educate and maintain them for the profits thereof, the mother of said children being entirely destitute and unable to provide for them: It is therefore directed by the Court that they be apprenticed to SAM HARPER to learn the occupations of farmer and housekeeper, until they shall attain the ages of twenty one and eighteen years upon the said SAM HARPER entering into bond with good and approved security in the sum of Two Thousand Dollars conditioned as required by law: Thereupon the said SAM HARPER came into open court with H. H. MAHON and BOB BROWN col and executed bond as required and the indenture of apprenticeship was acknowledged in open Court and ordered filed.
