Carroll County ( Know all men to whom
these presents may come greeting I Levi Smith of the State and County
aforesaid
In the name of God Amen
1st I commend my soul to God who gave it.
2nd My body to be buried in a decent and christian manner
3rd All my other property of which I am possessed I will dispose of in the following manner
Item 1st I give and devise to my beloved wife Alice Smith the tract of Land on which I now live together with the appertininces thereunto belonging together with the household furniture during her natural life or widowhood the said to acscend at her demise to my youngest children Levi Thomas and Jennetta Emeline Smith to make the youngest children equal with my first children also I want them to have one hundred dollars each for the purpose of educating them.
Item 2nd I want my Daughter Lucy Weaver to have five hundred to constitute
her sole interest in my Estate.
I want the lawful heirs of my daughter Nancy Ruff I want my Daughter Polly Aven
wife of C. W. Aven Elizabeth Butler the wife of A. T. Butler and my son John W.
Smith Equally to inherit the remaining part of my Estate after giving my two
step Daughters Sarah Ann & Malinda Jane Lett one hundred Dollars each that
they brought this much or more in the marriage with their mother.
Item 3rd. I constitute my worthy friend J. N. Lindsy my sole Executor
of this my last will and Testament
