JAMES H. SHARLOCK'S WILL
I James H. Sharlock of the County of Carroll state of
Tennessee planter do hereby make & publish this my last will
and testament hereby revoking and making void all former will by
me at any time heretofore made
And First I direct that my body be decently intered in as manner
suitable to my condition in life And as to such worldly estate as
it hath pleased God to entrust me with I dispose of the same as
follows
First I direct that all my debts and funeral expences be paid as
soon after my dease as possible out of any moneys that I may die
possess of or may first come into the hands of my executitors
from any portion of my estate real or personal. Secondly I give
and bequeath to my Mother one note of land for fifteen dollars on
J. M. Townes given and made payable to A. Holly dated the 6th of
December 1849 one note dated Febroary 24th 1849 on J. A. Holly
and Harriet Holly for forty five Dollars with a credit of twenty
Dollars one note on Samuel Fowler for four Dollars and fifty
cents dated January 26th 1852 and one on Z. Jayne for thirty
Dollars Dated May 11th, 1850, together with all my stock
consisting of one mare four head of cattle & twelve hogs with
all the corn fodder and oats that may remain in hand and one
account on Abram Mc Lemore for twenty Dollars and four Bee stands
& all my farming utensels and my tract of land of one hundred
& sixty Acres upon which I now reside together with all the
appurtenences thereto belonging. I do hereby make ordain and
appoint my mother and brother Benjamin H. Sharlock executors of
this my last will and testament. In witness thereof I James H.
Sharlock the said testator have to this my will written on one
sheet of paper set my hand and seal this eleventh day of May in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty.
