In the name of God Amen I Jane H Patton of the State and County aforesaid being in Jusmiveine mind and memory do make constitute and appoint this my last will and testament first I desire my body to be buried in a plain and decent maner as my Executors may thing and recommend my sould to the mercy of our gracious redeamer and as to the worldly goods he has favoured me with to dispose of them as follow (Viz) I give and bequeath to my dear daughter Helen Mar Patton and my dear son James M Patton all my personal propertya and all my clames in and to Sixty four acres of land whare Theophelis Ham now lives my legacy to the amount of Sixty dollars for which my dear Husband Thomas Patten destroyed a deed made to him by my father. William Mc Clure for fifty acres of land whare Theophelus Ham now lives I resign the above mentioned property to the disposal of my Executors. first to give my daughter Helen Mar Patton Schooling so far as to read and write well and my son James M. Patton to read & arithmetic as far as they may think proper then after my Buriel and Schooling expences of the above named children is paid then the remaining property or money to be equally divided between my Daughter Helen Mar Patton and my Son James M Patton whenever they becom Eighteen years old and as I have confedents in my Father William Mc Clure & my brother John Mc Clure to be honest & discreet men. I do hereby appoint and constitute them for my Executors and attorney to cary this my will unto affect and to settle with Hamton Ridley as Adminestrator of Thomas Patton Decd. and the money he has in his hands laid of for my years provision I want my children which was to have seventy dollars equally devided between them and my Brother John Mc Clure to attend to all my business when my Father William Mc Clure is not able and I want my son James M Patton to live with my Brother John McClure and for him to attend to giting him necesary clothing so long as he shall live with him and also to see that Mary Belue furnishes my daughter Helen Mar as long as she lives with her as wish Mary Belue to rase Helen Mar and furnish her with nessary clothing that she may need - I resign all the matter in the above named will unto my Executors not requiring security of them but after all matters is settled to have this will recorded in the County Clerks office and when all the property is sold and the money collected the same to be returned to the County Clerk to be recorded this my last will and testament in witness I Have unto set my hand seal interlined I before assigned this 14th day of October 1841.

This day the last will and testament of Jane H. Patten was produced in open and proved by the oathes of William Hanna & J L G two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and William Mc Clure and John Mc Clure ware appointed Executors & and took the oath as the law requires.
