James Mc Conell's Will

In the name of God, Amen. I James Mc Connel of the County of Carroll and State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory blessed be God do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say Item 1st I give unto my beloved wife Nancy Mc Connell the land and Mill where I now live and my mare and the thirds of all my perishable property during her widdowhood & the stile One year Item 2nd After paying my just debts I give unto my son Thomas Mc Connell One hundred acres of land lying in Hickman County Kentucky whereon he now lives. Item 3rd I give unto my son Archibald Mc Connel Sixty acres of land Joining the above tract of Thomas Mc Connell and Sufficiency to make him equal with Thomas Mc Connells hundred acres the whole 160 acres costing One hundred and forty dollars Item 4th I give unto John Davis married my Daughter Pheba & Isaac Brown My Daughter Mary after giving my Daughter Mary Brown a Common Side Saddle to divide the ballance of my estate equally with the above named John Davis & Isaac Brown and their heirs forever. I nominate and appoint My Son in law John Davis my Executor to this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal in the presents of those Witnesses this the twenty second of September in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred thirty.

The within Will and Testament of James Mc Connell deceased was this day produced in Open Court and the execution thereof was duly proven by the Oathes of John P. Weathers & H.B. Lawrence witnesses thereto to be the act & deed of the Said James Mc Connell for the purposes therein Contained & Ordered to be recorded.
