ABSOLEM MAXWELL'S WILL

I Absolem Maxwell do make and publish this my last will and testament.

1st. first I direct that my funeral expences and all my just debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any moneys that I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of my Executor.

2nd. Secondly I request that my Executor H. H. Ridley, Esqr. sell off all the surplus property.

3rd. Thirdly I bequeath unto my beloved wife Ruth Maxwell all my land for her to live on and for the use and benefit of my children during her natural life or widowhood or untill my youngest child becomes of age at which time as above speifyed that of her marriage or the youngest child becomes of age I direct that my land be sold by my Executor without an order of court on a credit of one & two years and that the proceeds arising therefrom be equally divided between my beloved wife and my children who may be living at that time or their representatives I direct that it shall be discretionary with my wife to remain on my land or move from it as seems best to her and the land rented and the proceeds appropriated to the support of her and my children and if she remain on it all that she dont want to cultivate be rented and the proceeds applied as above.

I direct that my children be educated as well as my Estate will justify. After all my just debts are paid I direct that my Executor use the balance of the money if there be any balance to the best advantage for the use of my beloved wife and children.

Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint H. H. Ridley Esqr. my Executor. In witness whereof I do to this my will set my hand seal this the 12th day of February A. D. 1859.
