S. P. DEMOSS' WILL

Know all men by these present that I S. P. Demoss in view of the Shortness of life & certainty of death Being of sound mind & memory believing it to be the duty of man to arrange his business in time to save to his friends a needless court expense & dispose of his Earthly possession agreeable to his own mind do publish the foregoing as my last will & Testament
First I wish my Funeral Expences & all Just Debts paid as soon after my Death as convenient out of any moneys I may die possessed of or otherwise if needed.
Second I wish all property I may die possessed of Sold Excepting House hould property for cash in hand or on a Twelve months credit I prefer the latter
Third  The money arrising from the above Sale I wish to be placed by my Executor in the hands of a Trustee Selected by my wife also any money on hand not already applyed by his giving bond with approved security for his acts & deeds as Trustee
Fourth I wish my Trustee to pay to my widow fifty Dollars per year & the balance of Interest on money in land after retaining a Resonable Compensation for his services as Trustee in case of Sickness or misfortune Seventy Five Dollars myself and B. E. P. Mathis has a claim for stock in the Mobile & Ohio Rail Road for about Five hundred & Thirty Dollars I wish my Trustee to have Discretionary powers to do the best he can with it.
Fifth I wish Stephen S. Pate & H. H. Ridley to Execute the above will.  In witness to all & Singlar the above will I hereunto set my hand & seal this 24th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & Sixty signed & sealed in the presence of
