A number of masked men captured a notorious thief named HOWARD at Harlem, Missouri and drowned him in the river.

The prosecution in the COL. CRANE murder case closed their evidence. The testimony of DR. J. F. HARRINGTON, who carried a challenge from YERGER to Col. Crane, bore heavily against the accused.

Last Tuesday night, a party of 40 men armed with muskets, faces blackened, went to the home of CROFF HOUSTON, living near Shawnee, Johnson County, Kansas and rapped on his door. He was hanged. He was accused of being a horse thief.

From the St. Joseph Gazette, St. Joseph, Missouri… item about a young man (unnamed) killed in a saw accident.
