Carroll County Seat

Huntingdon was selected as the county seat of Carroll county in 1822 when the county was established and is the location of the County Court House and the county government activities.  Some Tennessee and Federal Government offices are also located here.
Huntingdon was originally an agricultural area but is fast becoming a small industrial area.  The town is governed by an elected Mayor and Council with elections held every two years.  City operational activities are conducted at the Huntingdon Municipal Building built in 1977.  The Police, Fire, Street, and Sanitation, Water and Sewer, Parks and Cemeteries Departments with the Finance and Administration Department make Huntingdon a great place to live.
The Carroll County Senior Citizens Center and the Carroll County Civic Center are also in Huntingdon.
Carroll County Courthouse in Huntingdon is open Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM and 8 AM to NOON on Saturday.
