  • I am looking for any information on the gold mines of this county in the 1800's (Habersham County also). I am looking for the surname of McDonald as being a possible owner of a gold mine in this area. Any info on where to look would be appreciated.

Horton/Elrod

  • Searching for info on Abraham Horton married to Margaret Elrod in SC..came to Habersham Co., GA after 1823. 1830 Habersham census shows him at age 20/30 among these Elrod HH..Samuel 60/70; Newberry 20/30; Samuel 20/30; Levi 40/50. I believe he came to GA with these Elrods. Anyone have these names? Can you tell me where in SC they were before coming to GA. Abraham Horton died ca 1889 Mossy Creek area of White Co., GA. Any help appreciated.
