BONNER

  • I am looking for farmland that my husband's grandfather owned. His name was "Sam" Cleveland Francis Bonner (wife Jane). He grew corn back in the 1960's, and the farm was the main site for all the women to do their canning in the fall. My husband remembers that Sam Bonner said the farm was on the "backside of Brasstown Bald" (to the north) and there was a creek on the south end of the farm. It bordered a Mr. McClure's farm. The farm was mostly run by a Cherokee family - Daniel Bear (son, William)since Sam was a retired cop who had a house in Fulton County also. Mr. Bonner died in 1969 and I do not know what happened to the farmland after that. I struck out in Towns and Union County, and thought perhaps he lived in White County. Can anyone help with any information? Thanks.
