Comments: AYERS - I found my great grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Ayers (1873-1947), and her parents on the 1880 White County Census.  They were listed as living in the Mossy Creek District. Where is this district?  On the 1870 census the family was in Habersham County and on the one from 1900, they had moved on to Banks County where her parents, Jesse Putman Ayers (1828- 1903) and Sarah E. Cameron (1846-1911) died and were buried in the Homer Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Jesse Putman was a teacher and apparently moved around a great deal after the War, in which he served in Co. C of the 4th Georgia Cavalry until being maimed as a result of his horse falling over on him. I believe that some of my great grandmother's older brothers and sisters may have remained in White County, and it would be nice to have a starting place to narrow down the search. Comments: SIMPSON - Simpson, Henry Young, wife Nancy Powell Simpson. Shown on 1870 census, Cleveland, GA. Have been unable to locate any death records on Henry. He was a man of the gospel. On 1880 Census his widow and children were in Pendleton, SC. The oldest son Christopher would have attended school in Cleveland. My great grandfather, William Robert Simpson, was born in Cleveland in 1870. Are there any school records from the early school system. I visited the Historical Soc., but have been unable to make the necessary connections to find any records.  All help appreciated.
