Dr. John A. Moody
From "The Gainesville
Eagle", Friday, April 12, 1878, no. 15:
Letter from White.
Cleveland, GA, April 8, 1878.
Editor Eagle: Our village was thrown into gloom by the sudden and
unexpected death of Dr. John A. Moody. He was in town Tuesday,
apparently as well as usual, and started home about three o'clock,
but got only a short distance from town, where he was found
speechless. He was brought back to Mr. W. B. Bell's, where he
received every attention, but to no avail. He lingered in great
agony until Wednesday morning, when his spirit took its flight to
the great unknown. Dr. Moody was widely known as one of the best
physicians in Upper Georgia, and he will be sadly missed. We tender
the bereaved family and relatives our heart felt sympathy in this
sad affliction, and may they mourn as not without hope. Peace to his
ashes.
