The David Crockett
Chapter USD of 1812, was formed January 10, 2003, with State
President, Mrs. Karen Hall, Mrs. Sara-Ella Kurth, Sr. of the William
Gann Chapter of Lufkin, Texas and Organizing President, Mrs. Frances
Pryor, present.
Founding
members were Mrs. Virginia Bridge, Mrs. Sandy Coggins, Mrs. Barbara
Harrell, Ms. Nancy Hogan, Mrs. Sydney Holmesly, Mrs. Ruby Jones,
Mrs. Lorraine Kircher, Mrs. Patsy McKelvy, Mrs. Ina Morris, Mrs.
Amali Perkins, Mrs. Frances Pryor, Mrs. Donna Raymond, Mrs. Lahoma
Russell, Mrs. Corinne Staacke, Mrs. Dorothy Welch, and Mrs. Mary
Isabella Williams, who were all members of USD of 1812.
Prospective founding members in attendance were Mrs. Peggy
Jared and Mrs. Bertha Stone.
The name David Crockett was voted unanimously to be the name of the
new Chapter.
