Duke - Moore  Cemetery
 

This family cemetery was located 1/2 mile from the highway behind

6766 Poplar Pike (highway 70) on property of Mrs Henry Wetter

The cemetery was in a grove of cedar and other large trees, and

the ground was covered with ivy and vines.

Vandals and time have damaged the stones. The grave of Britton Duke

had been dug out to a depth of four or five feet for some

unknown purpose. There were at least 15 graves, each enclosed

with a concrete border, but only the following three had inscribed stones;
