Leila Maria Boykin was born 18 March 1862 in Gadsden, Madison
Co., TN. She was the daughter of William Osborne Boykin and Martha Irene
Lane. Martha was the daughter of Alfred Lane and Martha W. Pulliam.
Leila moved to Gainesville, Greene Co., AR about 1880 to be with her oldest
brother John Burwell Boykin, attorney at law. Leila married Green Don
Byers, the son of a confederate soldier, on 20 July 1881 in Gainesville. She
had 14 children. She died 1 May 1938 and is buried in the Gainesville
Cemetery. Leila lived in Friendship for a while and that her brother John
Burwell Boykin married Lizzie Jones of Trenton.
