Silas Jasper "Jap" Taylor was a farmer and livestock trader who lived in Trenton. He married
1st, Mollie Crenshaw and after her death married her sister, Sallie, daughter of Rev. Ira Irvin &
Martha Jane Gregg. All of Jap's children are shown here with the exception of those who died
at a very young age: Kathie, by 1st wife Mollie and Mollie, Dicie, and Annie Dicie by 2nd wife
Sallie. Jap was born November 15, 1850 in Gibson Co., TN, about two years after his parents
moved to Gibson Co. from Medon in Madison Co., TN. He died December 10, 1932.  My grandfather, Abb Taylor,
pictured with the family lived with Uncle Jap for about 8 years before his marriage to Katie,
after Abb's parents and siblings moved to Oklahoma Territory in the Altus area.
