Vice Mayor Joseph Eggleston Johnston Robinson
Robinson, my
grandfather shoeing the horse and his brother George Phelan Robinson
on the left. Don't know the man between them. This blacksmith shop
housed the fire wagon. My grandfather slept with his fire clothes hanging on
the bedpost for years on Robinson Street. He sold the first "T"
model Ford from the shop. He also owned a 1914 Jitney Ford. It was froze up
setting in the hall of the milk barn when I was growning up and I remember play driving
this old truck with wood steering wheel and spoke wheels. It had no roof over
the seat.
