W. H. Butler

Know all men by these presents that for and in consideration of Seven Hundred
Dollars paid as follows to wit: Five Hundred Dollars cash in hand paid the
receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged the remainder in a note of this date for
$200.00 and due Nov., 15th 1906 We, J. E. Butler and wife N. A. Butler have this
day bargained and sold and do by these presents transfer and convey unto W. H.
butler all of our undivided remainder interest and all the interest that we or
either of us may now have in the following described tract or tracts of land
lying and being situated in the 17th civil district of Gibson Co., Tennessee and
bounded as follows to wit: On the North by the South Fork River and on the East
by the lands of W. E. Pratt and on the South by the lands of F. A. Young and on
the West by the lands of J. E. Butler and better known as the Homestead of
Jessie G. Butler having been bought by him in three tracts the first one
containing 160 acres reference is hereby made to deed Book 7 page 190 the second
tract containing 16 acres more or less reference for this deed is hereby made to
Deed Book 22 page 468 the third tract continuing 15 acres be the same more or
less reference for this deed is made to Deed Book 25 page 33 it being a one
third undivided interest in the above described three tracts of land but as they
all join are virtually only one tract and all the land now owned by the said
Jessie G. Butler and the one third undivided interest here in conveyed is such
that I, J. E. Butler may be entitled to by virtue of being one of the three
children of the said Jessie G. Butler. To have and to hold to the said W. H.
Butler forever subject to the rights of Jessie G. Butler, I covenant with the
said W. H. Butler that I have a good right to sell and transfer said land and
that the said land is unencumbered and I further covenant with the said W. H.
Butler his heirs and assigns and bind ourselves our heirs and legal
representatives to forever warrant and defend the title to the said one third
undivided interest in the above described tract or tracts of land against the
lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. A lien is hereby retained on said land
to secure the payment of the above described note of $200.00.

Personally appeared before me, F. J. Bruff, a Notary Public in, and for said
County and State, the within named J. E. Butler and wife N. A. Butler, the
bargainor with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they
executed the within deed for the purpose therein contained. And N. A. butler
wife of the said J. E. Butler having personally appeared before me, privately
and apart from her husband, the said N. A. Butler acknowledged the execution of
the said deed to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly
without compulsion or constraint from her husband, and for the purposes therein
express.
