The State Gazette June 2, 1938 "Rites for Mrs. Betty Henry, 75, who died in Southtown at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bowde Williams and Mr. Williams, were held Friday afternoon with Rev. Harris, Baptist minister, and Rev. Robert Delancy, Pentecostal minister, officiating." "Burial was in the Christie family burying ground in Southtown with grandsons, Bowden Williams, Lawrence Henry Williams, W.O. Henry Jr., Coy Turner and Delmas Williams, as pall bearers." "Mrs. Henry, a well known and highly esteemed resident, is survived by the following children: Mrs. Bowde Williams, W.O. Henry, Mrs. Leonard Turner, all of Dyersburg; and T.A. Henry and Mrs. Whitt Hilliard, both of Memphis." |
