Post Tribune, Gary, Indiana May 10, 1989 Ernest Wilburn Atchison Age 77 years, of Hobart, formerly of Gary, Indiana, a Hobart resident for 35 years, passed away in Valparaiso, Tuesday, May 9, 1989. A member of the Portage Church of Christ, Painters Union Local #8, and a former employee of American Bridge Company. He was born in 1911 in Bogota, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Lucille Nance Atchison. They had been married for thirty-three years. Survived by wife, Gladys, two daughters, Shirley (Robert) Steinert and Carol (Wayne) Biggs, one stepson, Chuck (Theresa) Hembree; six grandchildren and one great grandaughter; one brother Huell (Teri) Atchison, Portage, Indiana; one sister, Nona Love Brooks of Dyersburg, Tennessee; five nephews and three nieces. Funeral Services Friday, May 12, 1989 at 1:00 p.m. in the Burns Funeral Home, Hobart, Indiana. Rev. David McClister officiating. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Indiana. Friends may call at the Burns Funeral Home Thursday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. |
