Allen Finley To Deed to Lot for School House John Hicks and others Recd Sept the 8th 1874 At 1 o'clock P M John T. Boon Register State of Tennessee - Dyer County – Know all men by these presents that I Allen Finley for and in consideration of the love of my fellow men; and to promote Education, give and grant, and by these presents convey unto John Hicks, HJ Wheeler and Andrew Hart as Trustees, a certain piece of land for the purchase of building a public School House the same on which a church now stands, with the understanding that any may (that is orthodox Denomination) preach there, But none but the Methodist E Church south shall organize on the same , Beginning on Andrew Harts North west corner and running south with his west boundary 9 poles. Thence west 40 poles to one HC Twillas south boundary and my north boundary, thence East with the same 40 poles to the Beginning containing one 1/8 acres. To be applied by the said trustees as above directed, and to hold the said property in trust free from the claims of myself, my heirs, my executers or Administrators or all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I have now set my hand and seal this 7th August 1874 Allen Finley State of Tennessee} County of Dyer } Personally appeared before me Zach Watkins County Clerk of said County, Allen Finley the within named bargainor, with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged the execution of the within instrument for the purposes therein contained.
