Tombstone of John Fleming Williamson

John Fleming Williamson

John F. Williamson was born May 24, 1790 in Rowan County, NC and died May 2, 1872 in Newbern, Dyer County, TN. He was a carpenter and a cabinet maker by trade. He moved to Newbern soon after the sale of property in Rowan County in 1851. He can be found on the 1860 Dyer County census living with his daughter, Sarah Fleming Williamson and her husband (his son-in-law and nephew), Jesse Franklin Williamson. His tombstone reads:

He was a tender father here
And in his life, the Lord did feaar
We trust our loss is his gain
That he has gone with Christ to reign.
