Parker-Young Cemetery

Located in Chestnut Bluff

Crockett Co., TN

A special thank you to Sue Hall, who compiled this inventory, and contributed it for use on this web site.

Very accessible. Located directly across the road from the little First Christian Church at Chestnut Bluff. The nearest intersection is ELI YOUNG Rd – also known as Bruceville Slab Rd, which intersects Chestnut Bluff-Maury City Rd in front of the GILLILAND house at 7935 Chestnut Bluff-Maury City Rd. Coming from Dyer CO on the Bruceville Slab Rd, and turning left on Chestnut Bluff Rd-Maury City Rd, the cemetery is to your immediate right, abt. 500 feet up the well-kept farm lane which goes straight to the cemetery. The cemetery adjoins the property of WILLIAM GILLILAND.

The family burial ground is presently maintained by JOHNNY CHERRY, gr-gr-gr grandson of Mrs. Abba Moss b. 1790, who is buried there.

In the bio of J.B. PARKER in the 1887 Goodspeed's History of Tennessee (Crockett County) mention is made of several of the individuals below.

The will of John M. Parker, on this web site, mentions giving the ground for this cemetery.
