moved to Chester County. Served in Civil war as 1st Corp Co.B 6th Cav. Tn. He is
buried at the Johnson Cemetary in Chester Co. I need his parents names and info
on his military record.

Looking for the name of town in Carroll County that Vera ELLIS, b. December
03,1897 was born in or near. She was the daughter of James Wiley ELLIS and
Missouri "Zoe" nee Spellings. Also looking for the names of Vera's

I am searching for any information about David Evans and his wife Mary (Wicker)
who moved to Carroll Co., TN in 1847 from Forsyth Co., NC, and lived there until
1857 when they moved to Stoddard Co., MO.They had three children: Mary S., Sarah
J., and James Yancy or Young Evans. Sarah and James were born in NC. I am not
sure where Mary was born. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on Rev. Robert Baker. He was in Carroll and
Davidson Counties in Oct., 1831. He moved from Tennessee to Montgomery Co.
Missouri. His sons were Esau and Jacob. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier. It
is possible that his two wives may have been Charlotte C. Lynn and a woman with
the first name of Sarah. I would appreciate any information available.

In my research of my family history I have found that my G-G-G-G Grandfather,
The Rev. Dr. John PARKER (b.1774 d.1864) married a Sarah HILLIARD. They had 8
children with Sarah dying after the 8th child. Then the Rev. Dr. John Parker
married Sarah's sister, Rebecca HILLIARD (b.1791 in NC, d.1871 in TN). John
Parker and Rebecca had 10 children which I have a decent account of. The only
child that I have a name for, out of the first 8 children from Sarah HILLIARD is
a John R. (Jack) PARKER who married Isabella Ann WILEY, daughter of Jonathan
WILEY. Does anyone have any information on the first 8 children. I also know
that John R. and Isabella Wiley PARKER are the great-grandparents of Clayton
Alvin GREER of College Station, Texas.

Co., Tn. Ann CRAIG was a resident of Carroll County from 1830 through 1843. She
was also the widow of Revolutionary War soldier Captain John CUNNINGHAM of South

Looking for info on Harriet HARRIS who was born in the Mclemoreville/Huntington
area and married James Henderson MORAN and was in Weakley Co. Tenn. There is a
picture of ISHAM GREEN HARRIS with the family pictures signed by him and who I
believe is either her brother or father..most likely brother..I understand Isham
became a lawyer and was in Green Co. for a time and he or his father became

Have located Tisha A. RIGGS in FTM CD 318, 1860 Census, Carroll County,
Huntingdon District 11, Page 07. Looking for information on RIGGS family to
confirm if this is my great-grandmother. Tisha A. RIGGS married John ROSSON of
Pocahontas, TN. Children were: Carrie ROSSON ("Sister Carrie" m.
Charles SOWELL); Fannie May Rosson (m. BURKART or BURKHART); John ROSSON
(relocated to Alberta, Canada); Lee Lee ROSSON (m. SEARSON); and my grandfather,
William Dee ROSSON, born December 30, 1880, in Pocahontas, TN. Sisters Carrie,
Fannie, and Lee Lee are believed to have relocated to the Birmingham, AL area.
Tisha RIGGS & John ROSSON were deceased by 1897; William Dee Rosson joined
the army at age 17 and fought in the Spanish American War, Phillipine
Insurrection, and World War I. He married Jessie May Morlan in California;
children: Virgilia Beryl, Wiletta Dorothy, Juanita Margaret, Leah Carrie, and
William Daniel ROSSON. Tisha A. Riggs possibly descended from Charles Carroll of
Carrollton, Maryland.

MANLEY, HUFFMAN
I'm trying find relatives of Robert MANLEY. In some documents the last name
is spelled MANLY. He was married to Bettie HUFFMAN. They lived in Carroll County
Tenn. They lived in McClemoresville, Tenn or Huntingdon, Tenn. I believe
Robert's father's name was Ike MANLEY and his wife's name was Mandy (i have no
last name). They lived in Henry County, Tenn. Robert and Bettie MANLEY had a
daughter named Annie which is my father's mother. Robert MANLEY had brothers
named Charles, Ader, Ike and John. His Sisters were Anna, Louisa, Judy and
Francia. I have no information on the HUFFMAN side of the family. I would

I am trying to confirm a Marriage between James Turner DEATON (b. Nov 15,
1826,Carroll Cnty,TN , d. Unknwn, Trinity Cnty., TX)and Mary Jane MANISS or
MANESS (b. Jul 16, 1832, ?,TN, d. Aug 24, 1873, Trinity Cnty, TX) The marriage
was reported to have been in Carroll Cnty. on Jan. 19, 1849. I would also like
to find out something about who their parents may have been. James T. DEATON's
parents may have been from NC. I have reason to believe that Mary's mother may
have been named Lucinda and she may have had a father or brother named Hiram or
initials A.H. I'll be happy to share any information that I have.

Jim and Mattie BELL of McLemoresville, TN (Carroll county). Mattie was born
February 22, 1871, and died January 1967. She is believed to be of some Native

ROTHROCK, FIELDS, McCRACKEN: Lewis (Ludwig) P. ROTHROCK was born 26 Apr 1814 at
present-day Davidson County, North Carolina. He married Rebecca R. RUDISILL (b.
1815) in 1840 at Lincoln Co., NC at the family was living at Rowan County, NC in
1850. They had five known children (all taken from the 1850 census): Ann Eliza
(b. 1842); Wallace H. (b. 1843), Susan A. (b. 1844), Margaret D. (b. 1846) and
James L. (b. 1849). I can't find the family on any 1860 census. However on 06
May 1864 a Margaret D. ROTHROCK married W.J. FIELDS at Carroll County,
Tennessee. On 10 Nov 1863 a Susan A. ROTHROCK married Lycurgus McCRACKEN at
Carroll County, Tennessee. I can't connect these two marriages with any other
ROTHROCK family. Does anyone know anything about these families? I am working on
a large ROTHROCK family tree.

looking for RAGSDALE , aand POOLE in CARROLL CO Shady GROVE AREA FROM 1830 TO
1870. I have done mosst of my search in Gibson county but understand most of
Shady GROVE was in Carroll Co. PETER RAGSDALE was a blacksmith in the area up
until his deaath in 1860. A MASSEY POOLE was lissted in his household and

Looking for parents of James R Mullins and Jane Malone who married in 1861 in
Carroll Co TN. James was in 7th TN CAV USA and died inMobile on way to
Andersonville prison in 1864. Jane Mullins later married T Higdon in Carroll Co.
Higdon was from Benton Co. Later moved in1870s to Arkansas. All of these
families were from NC.

Looking for information concerning Jacob MARTIN of Vale, Carroll County,
Tennessee, born (probably in North Carolina) on October 24,1806, and died in
Carroll County on August 07, 1849. He was marriedto Cinthea GREEN on October 11,
1825. They had 10 children. One of them was a son, Hobard Alexander MARTIN who
was born on September 15,1835. Would appreciate hearing from anybody who has
information on either Jacob (parents?) or Hobard.
