My Great Grandmother Martha Mary Abigail Townsend Stoker Smothers and her daughter Fannie Ettia Stoker Smothers of Carroll County.  They lived in Hollow Rock and moved to Southern Illinois when my grandmother was a young girl.  The young girl in the back is my mother Margaret Thelma Smothers Shappard and her cousin Leon Jeter.  I hope that someone sees the photos and we could connect with more of my Townsend or Stoker family.  After Martha’s husband William W. Stoker died, she married William Harrison Smothers of Benton County.  Fannie married Charles E. Smothers, son of Wilson A. Smothers and Caroline A. Busch.  I believe Wilson’s father William Smothers and his wife Mary “Polly” Cook were from Sumner County.
