This Indenture made and entered into between Joseph Sweany of the county of Carroll and State of Tennessee of the one part and Tilmon Johnson of the other part of said County and State Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred and Seventy Dollars on hand paid by the said Johnson unto the sd Sweaney The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and by those presents doth give grant Sell and consign unto the sd Johnson his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the sd County and state in Range one and section Three beginning at the South west corner of Entry No. 2134 runs South 46 poles to a stake Spanish Oak marked B in sd Johnsons North boundary line thence E 100 poles to hickory Thence South 14 poles to a Dogwood & elm Corner thence East 11 poles to a dogwood thence North 80 poles to a stake post oak pointers thence west 111 poles be the Same more or less with all and singular the rights and appertainances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and benefit of him the sd Johnson his heirs and assigns forever and the sd Joseph Sweany for him Self and his heirs hereby warrants and binds himself and his heirs forever to defend the Title to the above described land against the claim or claims of any and of every person whatsoever. In testimony is hereof the sd Sweany has set his hand and affixed his seal this 28th day of Sept. 1839. Test Joseph Sweany (Seal) W. B. Marshall James M.
