McDonald to Js. Taylor 3 1/4 acres land, Carroll County, District No. 3 I John McDonald have this day bargained and Sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto James S. Taylor and his heirs forever for the consideration of Forty Dollars Sixty Two cents to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a Tract or parcel of land in The State of Tennessee Carroll County and in District No. 3 containing by estimation Three acres & one fourth be the same more or less and bounded as follows. Beginning on a Stake on the East side of the Parris Road on the North Boundary line of the Christmasville tract thence North with the said Parris Road fourteen poles to a white oak on the East side of the Parris Road Thence East Thirty poles to a Stake near a large forked Beach Thence South twenty poles and ten feet to a stake on the North boundary line of the said Town Tract thence west thirty poles back to the beginning corner to have and to hold. The same to him the said James S. Taylor his heirs and assigns forever I do covenant with the said James S. Taylor that I am lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey the same and That the same is unincumbered I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said Jas. S. Taylor his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever in testimony whereof I hereunto sign my name and affix my seal This 9th day of March 1848. Attest J. B.
