This indenture made this 27th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and twenty eight between Hiram Langston of The County of gibson in the State of Tennessee of the one part and Samuel Baxter of the County of Carroll and State aforesaid of the other part wit nesseth that the Said H. Langston for and in consideration of the Sum of Six hundred and twenty six dollars to him in hand paid by the sd. Samuel Baxter the receipt whereof is hereby acknollegeged hath and by these presents doth give grant bargain Sell alien enfeoff convey and confirm unto the Said Samuel Baxter his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land Situated in Carroll County on beaver creek a brach of obion river in the fourth Section of the 3rd range in the twelfth Dis Trict bounded as follows (viz) beginning on a Stake two oaks pointers one hundred poles west from the north east corner of a 2560 acre Survey granted To the Trustees of North Carolina by the State of Tennessee and the north East corner of a Survey for Hammack running thence west one hundred Poles, to a black gum thence South 240 poles to a maple thence east 100 poles To a Stake and two post oak pointers on the west boundary of Said Hammack Thence north 240 poles with Sd.
