My great grandfather was John R.
Adams, he enlisted on September 19 1862 in Cleveland. He
was in Co. B. 52nd Infantry Regiment, Cleveland Volunteers,
White County, Georgia. John contracted some form of
disease and died in Murray County, Georgia November 12
1862. We do not know where he was buried. It is
believed he was at his brother Charles Adams home in Murray
County, Georgia.( Charles is also believed to have died in the
Civil War, but not located this inf as yet). Martha
Patsey Adams, Nee Bowen applied for his pay on May 7 1863
(information obtained from the Georgia Archives, Clayton
County, Georgia. Helm H Bowen was 3rd Sgt of this same
unit-he was the brother of John's wife Martha Pasey Bowen
I am researching Adams, Bowen,
Chastain, Denton, Osborn and Wood of White County, Habersham
County, Towns County and Union County.

Currently that I know of there is none of the family residing in
this area, Son Frank Hood Jr. resides in Detroit, MI
. William Frank was buried in Cleveland, GA around 1957-58 . He

I suspect Hiram is the son of Micajah Turner B; abt 1777, NC he
is shown on the 1850 census in Habersham County. GA.
